Landscape Assessment
Working with funders and coalitions to get the lay of the land
IN ACTION: In 2021, we worked with the Asian Pacific Islander Council and Stupski Foundation on a landscape assessment to identify the needs and opportunities related to food justice for API communities in San Francisco.
We did this through neighbor strategy sessions, in-depth interviews with community leaders and policymakers, asset mapping, and community data collection. By the end of the project, we helped the Council:
Develop an interactive food asset map (in partnership with R for the Rest of Us)
Identify community assets and barriers related to food justice
Provide data-driven recommendations to inform the design of local interventions, centralized leadership capacity, and systems-level change through advocacy and policy change
