OK ladies, let’s get in formation. 🎶

Comin’ in HOT with another installment of Intention 2 Impact’s Heart-2-Heart — our monthly newsletter where we share what’s on our mind, in our hearts, and up our sleeves.

This month, we clap it up for women-owned businesses, wish a happy solar return to two I2I team members, and invite you to an upcoming symposium where our deep fakes will discuss the implications of AI on Evaluation.

JK, don’t worry, it will be us in all our 2D glory.

On Our Minds

Last week, we celebrated International Women’s Day with this big announcement about our women-owned small business. 👏🏽👏🏽

Did you know that 40% of businesses in the US are women-owned, with 114% more women entrepreneurs than there were two decades ago? We’d like to see 50% or more (especially among non-binary folks and those who are historically marginalized) — but we’re here for the progress. In the past year alone, 64% of new women-owned businesses were started by women of color — with Black women being the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurs. Raise a glass (or two) to THAT.

But holddd up… we know too well that diversity ≠ equity.

Despite more women entrepreneurs than ever before, women-owned businesses contribute just 4% of total private sector annual revenue. Ahem. That is not a typo. 96% of private sector revenue is earned by companies owned by men.

I2I is fueled to disrupt this disparity. We are proud to be a next-generation, feminist firm that knows profit and purpose are not in opposition. We know that prioritizing equity, sustainability, and responsible business practices is imperative for both financial stability and social impact. In fact, we see our growth as an avenue to reimagine traditional business norms by leading with transparency, authenticity, equity, and abundance for all.

And when we show up this way as a business, we are better partners for our clients, allies for communities, and stewards of social impact.

In Our Hearts

The I2I Squad is celebrating a double dose of birthday magic this month!

  • Blake Beckmann, our resident systems-thinking wizard and outcome harvest MVP (FUN FACT: also the lead singer of the nu metal band, Stepa), made his solar revolution on March 2nd.

  • Maria Golden, our executive assistant extraordinaire and marketing virtuoso, will be celebrating her birthday on March 20th. (The collared dress, such a classic)

I2I is beyond grateful for the brilliance, creativity, and kindness that Blake and Maria each bring to our team! Hit reply to send them a birthday wish.

Up Our Sleeves

For our most devout newsletter readers, you’ll recall our segment on ChatGPT and AI + evaluation in our January issue.

Well, things have escalated here at I2I…

Over the past month, our team has been experimenting with AI in our evaluation practice. We’ll share our experiences at the upcoming symposium hosted by Center for Research Evaluation (Ole Miss) & University of Connecticut on March 24th.
